Great Wilderness Challenge News

GWC co-founder Donald sadly passed away suddenly at work on Wednesday 9th March. He had played a leading role in setting up the Challenge back in 1986 along with local friends, and continued his association with the event throughout the years, often walking the 25 mile route with his lifelong friend Michael Hunter. Last year Donald took on the mantle of event photographer at Corrie Hallie and Poolewe – a job he relished, having been himself a keen and accomplished photographer all his days.

We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Agnes and the extended family at this sad time. We have all lost a dear friend and colleague, who will be greatly missed.
